The Foundation
The Fundación Universidade de Vigo was established in July1997. The creation of the Executive Board in May 2004 led to a reigniting of activity and initiatives at the request of the Trust.
The Social Council of the Universidade de Vigo also forms part of the Executive Board and the Trust of the Fundación Universidade de Vigo.
The main objectives of the Foundation, as defined since its inception, are based on the close collaboration with the Universidade de Vigo to encourage and foster all kinds of study and research, activities, and specifically to:
- Coordinate the collaboration between the Universidade de Vigo, the business sector and other types of institutions.
- To stimulate, encourage and support the cultural development carried out by the Universidade de Vigo via collaborations with central, regional, provincial and local government institutions and other public and private organisations.
- To work together with the Universidade de Vigo in the development and management of all activities that help support the University Community.
Duties
The duties of the technical staff in this office entail:
- Ensuring access to practical work experience opportunities by the university students.
- Establishing a working relationship between businesses and the Universidade de Vigo.
Its scope of action mainly includes:
- The management of work experience and internship opportunities in private and public institutions.
- Student follow-up and advice in matters relating to work experience within an organisation.
- Advice to entrepreneurs.
- Technology-Based Employment Initiatives Programme: IEBT certified specialists from the Consellería de Traballo (regional Employment Office).
